Capiphon Eco Drain™ Overview
The Capiphon Eco Drain™ is an engineered micro siphon drainbelt, an innovative drainage material that boasts an exceptionally high ratio of surface area opening to water ingress. This unique feature accelerates stormwater runoff drainage and decreases water content in the soil, significantly reducing the risk of floods and landslides.
The basic Capiphon Eco Drain™ system features Drainbelt and Draintube sections, along with an adapter, sleeve, and cap. These components provide versatile assembly options. They can be effortlessly connected for comprehensive drainage setups or provided separately for tailored applications providing flexible solutions for a variety of environmental and infrastructural needs.
What Type of Capiphon Eco Drain™ Do I Need?
Capiphon Eco Drain™ offers two innovative products tailored for diverse drainage applications: the Draintube and the Drainbelt. Each is uniquely designed to meet specific needs across various environments.
Draintube is distinguished by a 63mm ABS pipe encased within the Drainbelt, providing full circumferential coverage. This setup utilizes 132 capillaries to efficiently channel water through natural gravity and siphoning, ensuring the system remains clog-free and low maintenance. This design choice leads to a 30% cost savings over the lifespan of a project compared to conventional drainage systems like AG pipes, offering significant economic benefits.
Drainbelt measures 7.8' x 40' and is 2mm thick, featuring a versatile design for installation in tight spaces, making it suitable for a variety of applications such as vertical retaining walls, roof gardens, and residential basements.
Install Drainbelt in shallow trenches with a minimum 2% slope, spaced according to soil type, flooding risk, and rainfall intensity. Ensure the central collection trench is deeper and connected to a sump or waste system. For vertical installations, use PVC pipes with slots for the Drainbelt, ensuring proper drainage towards a central sump. No gravel or geotextile is needed, allowing for a straightforward setup.
